pink + purple

Looking at different pictures makes me want to add a little pink and purple to my decor. Take a look at this image, pretty isn't it?

What a beautiful picture....I love pink and purple together. What a great combination. I found this artist on flickr and she has a website and wonderful works of art including pillows, posters and styling. Color is a fun way to change things in any living space....why not add a little pink or purple?

playroom

My friend Laura is so talented! She painted this modern forest design in my daughter's playroom. It is such a fun space filled with lots of playtime and giggles. I love the colors she used. There are also polka dots on the walls that add a fun touch. The pom poms are an easy, inexpensive addition to any room. You can see just a little bit of the cardboard playhouse that has gotten lots of use too. You can find one like that here.
Hope you all are having a great week. It is Thursday, the weekend is almost here! Yeah!! I am off to a barre3 class today. Such a fantastic exercise class to clear the mind :)

laundry room

We moved into our home in July of 2009 and it has been so fun doing little projects around the house. The laundry room has started to be a favorite of mine. I like to write my letters and do my little sewing projects there. It is a peaceful place.....I have never had a "laundry room" before. I think it is more like a "my getaway place." Nobody else in the household even steps into that room....I feel like it is my little secret space.
My mom recovered this old chair she had in such a sweet print. She also helped me paint lavender stripes on one of the walls. Very tricky to do, she has talent! I love the color lavender...it is such a peaceful and relaxing color. I bought the crate and barrel lampshade at a model home garage sale for $20 bucks....it is over $200 at the store...I love a deal!
I also love chalkboards. I have a couple in my house. What a great way to write something powerful and meaningful.  What little things do you do in your home that are meaningful to you?
Have a blessed day!

I was looking at flickr this past weekend and found some wonderful pictures of living areas. Look at this cozy den.....wouldn't this be a dreamy place to cuddle up with a book and a yummy chai?

spring

I purchased this sweet spring bulb from trader joe's last week. I have enjoyed it sitting at my kitchen window watching it bloom beautifully. Flowers bring so much joy and warmth to a home. My daughter and I planted it yesterday and it was a fun activity to do together. The flower came in such a pretty container that I plan to re-use it for a candle holder. The best part is...it only cost a little over 2 dollars!
Wouldn't this be a great gift for someone? I hope you enjoy your weekend ahead...........xoxo

madebygirl

I love Jennifer Ramos...the talented girl behind Made by girl. She has a fun website, blog and etsy shop. I bought the LOVE picture in teal and have it in my entryway. It is such a fun art piece....
The alphabet art work would look so cute in a child's room.

Hope you all are having a fantastic day. My daughter, the puppy and I just got back from a wonderful bike ride. The sun has been out the last couple of days and it feels so good. I feel spring coming!

sweet

These chairs are so cute! I found this etsy store BBline the other day and fell in love. Aren't they yummy? I think you could make this a DIY project if you had the time and resources.

I would love to see one of these in a corner of my living room or tucked into an area of a bedroom or hallway.  I think the mix of vintage material with a crocheted flower is such a sweet touch. xoxo

creativity

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. My momma-in-law was here and we had a great time. My hubby and I got to have a date and that was special.....

I want to share with you a pretty fantastic artist out of the UK. Her name is Clare Coles and she has talent! She now has an online store you can find here. She has beautiful taste and creates lovely wallpapers, ceramics, brooches and gift cards.

I love her wallpaper so much, but I had a budget and a super creative artistic friend, Laura, who helped me out. She used her artistic abilities and painted this lovely design. We decided the back wall in my bedroom would be perfect. Take a look and tell me what you think!

goodmorning

Goodmorning! How are you this morning? What are your plans? I am excited to plan a little Valentine's party for my little girl and her friend tomorrow.  I have all the decor, now I need to organize and cook. It looks like it is going to be a sunny day also. That makes me smile!

I found this artist while I was looking at artwork the other night. I love how simple and beautiful the image is. You can see the hearts floating oh so gently. I love how peaceful the picture is. You can find this beautiful artist's store urban design here. Have a peaceful day.

home tweet home

I have two pictures of my home to share with you today. The first one is my blue antique dresser that I just adore. I added a little Valentine decor to it.

The next picture is of my sweet bird candle from anthropologie (one of my favorite's) and my precious domino decorating book. I miss domino magazine so!

How many birds do you count in these pictures? I just love these little creatures, they bring a smile to my face and I hope they do to you too!

momma

I am a momma of a 5 year-old. She melts my heart and she is starting to show signs of her own creativity. I was busy doing things around the house when I noticed the living room looked different. She told me, "Momma, I needed to change some things around in the living room, it looks better now." Isn't that fantastic! Do you love to re-arrange your furniture and decor? I do. It is something that is cheap, fun and creative.

I posted a picture of my pendant lamp in my dining room yesterday and you can find the beautiful etsy store drawflowers here. Francesca makes her wallpaper lamps by using wonderful vintage materials with a 60's, 70's vibe. Check out her store, and have fun looking at her amazing work.

I enjoy not only re-arranging my furniture, but also replacing things like light fixtures! It is so simple and easy and can really change the look of a room.

hide & seek

This is going to be a fun journey. I have never blogged before and I am ready. Ready for the "blogging" world. I have been playing "hide & seek" for awhile now. Should I start a blog? Will it be interesting? How in the world do I do it?

I received a wonderful email from Kirsten over at simplygrove today and she inspired me. Her words were, "just start a blog and go from there." INSPIRATION! That is all I needed.

I love everything about my home. I love who occupies it, the decor, the peace and above all the LOVE. I hope to share a little bit every day with you. I hope to inspire and demonstrate creativity that you can enjoy!

OURAQT is a blog about its name. I love anything cute and chic. I love to mix different styles and just have fun with decor.

ENJOY!
Jennifer
