furniture...from the past

Lately, I have found enjoyment in using furniture from the past...... like this desk I got when I was a little girl. My parents brought it to me a few months ago and it fits perfectly at the end of our hallway next to our bedroom. I love to watch my daughter sit at it and do her little work. I enjoy it for quiet time.....

monday

I have lots of errands and monday stuff to do today.....but I just wanted to thank you all for your support with our adoption and for buying our coffee. We only get 5 bucks for every coffee sold, but we have already raised $400...and every penny helps. Having to go two times to Ethiopia takes a little different turn in our lives....so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support, love and commitment to bring our baby home!

hang out here

I think I would like to hang out, snuggle up and read a book in this space today. I love the colors and look at those fun pillows. Check out that pendant light! Neat-o!!!

I hope you have enjoyed your week. Mine has gone by fast and I am enjoying this sunny weather...finally! I thought of our little boy all week as he turned 4 months old. I can't wait to give him a squeeeeeeeeze!

cozy space

My cozy living room.....a place where we can relax, read, have deep discussions and laugh! I have re-arranged this space a few different times, but I think this set up is here to stay...for awhile :) What space do you enjoy the most in your home? I have to say I enjoy more than one space, for they all have different purposes. I feel like my style is changing as well......shhhh...don't tell my husband! I have had this furniture for many years and I have gone a little more contemporary. It will be a long time before we purchase anything new (unless I find a steal like my one hundred dollar sofa upstairs!) But it is always fun to find simple finds like lamps and pillows that can change your style a little. The rocking chair was mine as a little girl and now my little girl uses it. FUN!

Goodmorning! Hope you all had a great weekend celebrating with all the dad's out there! My hubby got treated to an apple pancake and a personalized latte with pictures of the family on a new travel mug by his daughter, aka...."sweeps!" We had a fantastic weekend with friends and our little family. I even got to go to a chic flick with a friend! Woopppeeee! The crazy part is I didn't have cash (ummm...once again) and I borrowed a 20 dollar bill from my 6 year-old....thought I would replace it before she saw it....but she awoke yesterday morning to see her purse on the kitchen countertop and asked me with a concerned face, "Momma, why is my purse down here?" Oh boy, the explaining I had to do! Needless to say, we were off to the bank to get a 20. Oh, being an honest mother :)

So today I am thinking of my baby boy and I am overwhelmed with the fact that he turns 4 months in a couple of days and I haven't seen a recent picture of him, haven't met him in person, or touched him. It is such an out of body experience to see just a picture and know he belongs to you. Oh, he is so precious. I am going crazy nuts! We found out our visa paperwork is at the US Embassy in Ethiopia, so we are one step further! Now, we just wait for our court date and we are off to Ethiopia! Yeah!

I found some cute things that reminded me that I get to decorate his room before he arrives.  Isn't that moblie above so cute! What a clever idea. I am on the hunt for some precious little finds to make my little boy's room special and a place he can enjoy for years.

Hello! Checking in with my peeps...I know it has been a week, and I have to say it has been a wonderful 7 days :) I had a lovely time with some wonderful friends and family. Thanks girls!!!

Hope you are all doing well. It is summer, yeah! I am so excited for sunny, lazy days with my family and friends.

fun space

I love this space...it has been all over the blog world, but I still had to blog about it! It is part of the IKEA home section. So fun to have a chalkboard in the dining area. I have one in the kitchen that is pretty fun and I have blogged about it before, here is another picture.

new space

 I bought this sofa for a hundred bucks!

 The funky lamp was a gift from my mom for mother's day :)

I have had fun decorating our t.v./family room upstairs. So far I have been able to do it within a nice budget...yes that sofa was only 100 bucks! And...it is even comfy! I switched out the lights with more modern clear pendant lights, but forgot to take a picture...oops! Next time. I plan to add more to this room over time, so I will show you more a little later :)

SUNNY MONDAY! I can't believe it!! It has been icky weather for so long, I forgot what it was like to wake up to clear blue skys....beautiful!!! This picture was taken on the roof of my hubby's work. My daughter did a little project for a friend...."where is flat stanley?" He traveled all over with us and this is a fun photo of our beautiful home town.

Hope you had a good weekend. Any plans for the week? I am off to run lots of errands today for I am going on a little trip the end of the week to spend time with a dear friend of mind and then my sister....oh and the little one graduates from kindergarden this week! Wow...time does fly :)
