MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It has been a few months since I have posted, and so much has happened! Just a quick re-cap...We went to Ethiopia to meet our baby boy! Oh my goodness, it was the best Christmas present ever. Now, we are just waiting...waiting...and waiting to get the call back to go and finally pick him up....we pray very soon.

How are you all? Ready for Christmas? I had fun decorating this year. I didn't do too much, but enough to make me smile :)

dear peeps

Dear blogger peeps,

I am going to need to take some time off of my little blog....I have a lot going on right now and I am not finding the time to post...bummer! I will probably post here and there, and keep you a little updated about our adoption and maybe some cute finds, but for now I am going to have to say Chow! ironing?

So I mentioned in an earlier post this week that I didn't iron. That inspired me to look up cute iron board covers. Ha! I found them. You have to love the internet! Now, who could not want to iron if you had one of these?

the red thread

I had to do a quick catch up on some of my blogs I follow and ran across so inspiration from the red thread blog. The artist is from Australia and she makes the cutest sweetie petite doll kits. She was recently featured in a bunch of magazines. They are so cute! You can find her little store here.

And...by the way.....we are meeting our little one on Thanksgiving Day.....now that is something to be THANKFUL about! Yeah!!! I can barely stand it! So happy to get some amazing news!

guest room

Here is a little picture of my guest bedroom. The quality of the picture isn't that great and my sheets are wrinkled! They look like they need to be ironed....but those of you who know me know I don't like to do such things!

Here is the run down on the room:

Lampshade is from IKEA
Lamp base is from Target....always fun to mix and match your lamps...
Pillow cases from pottery barn...which I already had.
Bedspread from Crate and barrel...used to be on our bed a few years ago. It is always fun to use a piece of furniture or accessories somewhere else in your home if you get "bored" of it in a space.
Fun vintage french banner from an etsy store called royal buffet.
Pink little pillow I made :)
I didn't spend much on this room....

I need to take some more pictures of this little guest room. There are some colorful pom poms and a cute grey chair tucked in the corner of the room.

you are my sunshine

My daughter is my sunshine! Today she starts the first grade. Where does the time go? I am feeling so many different feelings today, but I feel confident in her teacher and know that she is going to have so much fun. Her teacher's classroom theme is "ice cream" and there was a little pink cone on the bullentin board with my daughter's name. She was pretty excited! Now I know the feelings my parents had way back when. Check out more of these cute prints above here.

girlie girl

I know, I know...I am having a baby boy....but this room is soooo soooo sweet and girlie. My sister is having a girl, so maybe that is why I was drawn to this room....or.......maybe I love this room because I have a little girl and I am a girlie girl! Anyhoo....I love the rocker, love it! I found this blog over the weekend and enjoyed reading it. The writer is so creative and does a lot by hand. Check out her matching aprons she did for her and her daughter here.

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend. Mine was packed with church, friends, the pool and work....bummer about the work, but nice to have a little more savings for our trips to Africa....hopefully we will get word SOON!

I have been looking for artwork in the baby's room and I always seem to be drawn to Made by Girl. I love the alphabet poster...look closely and you will see a child's name! What a great idea. She has awesome cards too. There is even a section of her website called, "jennifer's closet" where she sells things she used to own like the deer pillow above. Pretty creative!

OH Anthropologie.....can we all take a moment....close our eyes....and dream.................!!!! This store will put you in a happy mood just thinking about it! Isn't that little dress cute! STARS??!! I will take that leather sette please! I would so enjoy watching the interior design crew set up the store, they do amazing work.......

fresh & simple

I love this space. Fresh and simple. Just lovely!

I have been so busy that this little blog has gotten ignored! So sorry fellow peeps! 

We got great news last friday that our papers got submitted to the high courts of Ethiopia and the next thing we will hear is when we travel for the first time! Yeah!!! The courts are closed now until the end of September because of the rainy season, but thankfully we got a little movement before there will be NO movement again. Oh the waiting is killing me!!!

the weekend is almost here!

I hope you all have had a good week. I must admit...I am tired! I worked this week to make extra money for our flights and time in Ethiopia. It has been awhile since  I have worked as an Occupational Therapist and my feet feel it! It has been a good week, but I am also glad it is almost done. I miss my little blog and decor! I also got a little job helping out a friend with her decor in her home and it has been so much fun! I will share some photos with you once we complete a room. Can't wait! Still no more news when we get to go to Ethiopia. I am trying not to get too frustrated and leave it in God's hands.

West Elm....gotta love it! I found these little treasure's online yesterday and thought I would share.

I love the little sette, it would look fantastic in my living room...... :) They just came out with some great new fabrics too... of course for a little extra, but a little more special. I could take each color and design of the chairs too! What is your favorite?
